Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Learning Space Integrator on a permanent, full-time contract. This pivotal role is at the forefront of transforming our educational environments, driving the management, development, and installation of cutting-edge educational technologies. As a Learning Space Integrator, you will play a key part in revolutionizing our educational environment, integrating innovative technologies into our learning, teaching, research, social, and meeting spaces, ensuring our university remains a leader in providing an inspiring and technologically advanced educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to and maintain an educational technology platform, lifecycle and standards for learning, social and meeting spaces.
  • Implement educational technologies into the University’s physical spaces to support projects, upgrades and component replacement.
  • Create and manage issues registers to hold issues that are raised by key customers and users.
  • Collaborate with functional groups throughout the University to deliver focused educational technology projects, upgrades and replacements.
  • Develop assessment frameworks and metrics to measure the impact and effectiveness of educational technology initiatives on teaching and learning outcomes.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience and up to date knowledge of educational technology design.
  • Experience in the physical installation of educational technology hardware.
  • Knowledge of current university and tertiary education environment.
  • Knowledge of current learning and teaching best practices.
  • A strong understanding and appreciation of the opportunities presented by educational technology in a tertiary environment.
  • Experience and up to date knowledge of educational technology hardware, applications and services.
  • Knowledge of control system programming techniques and hardware platforms.
  • Experience on the full installation and commissioning of learning spaces, associated technology and fittings.
  • Knowledge of educational technology applications and platforms.
  • Experience communicating information to different target groups.
  • Experience in producing high quality documents using current digital methods and applications.
  • Ability to communicate through all levels of an organisational structure.
