Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting an Academic Adviser for the Academic Office. This role will join a fantastic team of four: the Manager, two other Academic Advisers, and the Quality and Policy Coordinator. Your contribution will be cover for staff taking leave and working part-time. There will be roughly 8 hours a week available, perhaps more, but this cannot be guaranteed hence the casual nature of this role.

Your work will involve supporting the Quality and Policy Coordinator managing the University’s feedback system, along with a range of other duties which could include:

  • Supporting Academic Programme Reviews.
  • Supporting Graduating Year Reviews.
  • Assisting in the development of Academic Policy.
  • Assisting with Academic Grievances.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be someone who enjoys working in a team, can work independently when required, and be able to manage a range of relationships with people across the University. You will have strong skills in data analysis, writing and problem solving. This role will suit a postgraduate student looking for flexible work where you can learn more about key aspects of the University academic policy and evaluation systems. Preference will be given to knowledge of Māori and/or Pacific education.
