Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Senior International Admissions Officer to join the International Admissions team on a permanent, full-time contract. In this role you will be responsible for assessing international student applications, making an admission decision, and communicating the outcome, with an emphasis on peer review and providing expert advice to International Admission Officers and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Specialist Admissions Assessment and Advice.
  • Admissions Systems and Business Process Management.
  • Project Management, Coordination and Relationship Building.

You will:

  • Have a mature attitude with excellent problem-solving abilities, and be able to work well under pressure.
  • Be skilled in working independently and with a team.
  • Be dedicated to fostering a positive environment through open communication and collaboration.
  • Have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse individuals and cultures at a variety of levels.
  • Be sensitive to cultural and linguistic differences.

Key requirements:

  • Strong organisational skills with initiative in planning and prioritizing to meet deadlines in a complex team environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of the international education system and proven experience in assessment roles.
  • Proficient in using CRM tools, like Microsoft Dynamics, to enhance the customer journey.
  • Experienced in providing timely and accurate advice to various customers and stakeholders.
  • Background in large organisations and regulated environments within the public or private sector.
  • Proven ability to deliver work with accuracy and attention to detail.
